Seminariusz NEVA w Lanckoronie

From the 27th of November till the 2nd of December, I was participating to my 3rd NEVA seminar. And if the 1st two ones in which I took part were in France (they gave me a good occasion to pass by my country :-), this one took even place closer to my current hosting city as it was in Poland :-). It was in Lanckorona, a little village, close to Krakow, a bit in the mountain.

The place was gorgeous, and since there was plenty of snow it was even more beautiful.

We all meet in Krakow railway station in late afternoon and then headed by bus to Lanckorona, not without problems to find the pensjonat "Willa Tadeusz". We were hosted in a beautiful old pension house. We spent a lot of time there as it was our place for sleeping, eating, working and partying. And since there was about nothing in the village, except the possibility to see the castle's ruins and to have a walk, wew were better inside, in a warm place.

After a low beginning, due to the common blabla that we still have at the beginning of each seminar, it became very interesting. We worked a lot, everybody being quite active, involved and energetic. So, we planned some project for NEVA like a radio-project, the organisation of a coordinated International Voluteer Day in many countries, the organisation of a work camp next summer, etc.

The place was so special... It is run by a old fascinating guy, who is about 80 but looks quite younger. The last day, I told us about his life and the history of Lanckorona and of its pensjonat. During the communist time, it was the only property which remained private as his family had some relationships in Ministries! He himself built a wooden car, of which he showed us some pictures, and also a wooden plane but this last one crashed :-). Pilsudski is also important to this place. He came there and the old man once slept with him.. when he was 6 :-). In a room was standing a big and quite affraying portrait of Pilsudski!

For the participants who did not know Polish food, it was also a perfact occasion to get a deep insight on it as we had only typical Polish sniadanie (breakfast), obiad (lunch) and kolacja (dinner), at quite acceptable hours :-).

On the 30th of November we also celebrated a very Polish tradition: Andrzejki (St Andrew). During this evening are organised games through which we are supposed to know more about our love future :-).

On Saturday evening, we headed back to Krakow, where we went out all the night, and then on Sunday people began to leave, back to home, the remaining ones having lunch together in Kazimierz.

Once again, it was a SUPER NEVA seminar :-)
